a good catering job is a challenge to quote without knowing the details.
the menu, level of service, and other factors all contribute to the bottom line.
a drop-off of a menu can cost $25.00 pp, but having the same menu set-up, attended, and served can raise the rate to $50.00-$75.00.
in summary, knowing or having a general idea of what you want can make a tremendous difference in the amount of time you spend vetting caterers.
we have what we believe is a comprehensive listing of our menus.
here's a link to that page:

as a catering company, we do set our menus, but try to keep them interesting and creative.
smart. very smart.
our menus consist entirely of dishes that we have successfully served to other clients, but that might not mean much to you, having not experienced our food yet.
additionally, you may want to protect your day's investment by being absolutely certain that you are picking the right things to offer.
having a tasting beforehand can save you a lot of uncertainty. it is recommended for larger-sized occasions such as a wedding or family gathering.
we offer menu tasting at your home or the place of your choosing. a tasting at our kitchen can be arranged, in some instances.
removing or adding ingredients is usually feasible to accommodate.
we may even, in some instances, be able to blend two different menus.
if your budget permits, the option to customize your menu is always there.
yes. and be wary of any service provider who doesn't require one.
without a deposit, all you and a caterer have is a conversation.
in order to begin staffing and prepping your event, a caterer needs the security that comes with your expressing commitment by leaving a deposit.
you also benefit from knowing that you and the caterer are contracted and, barring an unforeseen event, are mutually obligated to keep that commitment.
ask our calendar.
if we have the availability, we can serve your event.
naturally, the further in advance that you contact us, the more likely we are to have a date free.
no. no, no, no.
one of Chef Ty's misgivings about this wonderful industry is the lack of transparency and the padding of invoices.
all of our line items are called out and do not "magically appear" once we have your deposit or in an updated email a few days before your event.
most invoices will have the following line items:
we do not charge "extra" for:
transparency is a product we offer which is almost as important as the food.
the relationship means more to us than the invoice. always.
we understand that things happen and you can always end up changing your mind.
cancellations always result in a fee. it's the nature of the business.
the moment we book you, every call we get after that is turned away.
when you cancel, all of those leads are lost revenue.
that isn't your problem, but we do need to compensate for that.
we handle cancellations on a case-by-case business, not ever retaining more than 50% of the deposit, depending on the amount of notice.
hope that helped!
we strive to be competitively priced. with our general prices being published, it is easy for another caterer to bid lower than we have.
what the client usually misses, though, is a reduction of the level of service along with vague item descriptions.
if you would like us to counter an offer, the first thing we will ask is to see the invoice that we are competing with. that being said, let the haggling begin !
we leave politics out of our business and we leave it out of the food, too.
while we do not source all of our food from the most artisanal and agrarian purveyors, we also are not fans of can openers.
we place a high level of emphasis on quality, but are not above buying flour and salt from the grocery store.
if a client wants to use top-tier ingredients, we will do so and indicate it on our invoice.
we want your business. we want you to be satisfied. and we want you to recommend us to other people.
one day we will grow up and move out of mom and dads house and build a 10,000 sq ft warehouse that can hold enough equipment for us to create a breathtaking backdrop for your event.
until that day comes, we stick to the food.
we are happy to take your theme and decor into consideration when we display your food.
just let us know what we can do to accommodate your event and we will do it.
... just give us a call
